The TIE Model
A Leadership Tool for Navigating Change

A group of coworkers gather around a desk to collaborate together.

The TIE Model is a leadership framework developed by FarWell to help leaders address the human side of change. In today’s constantly evolving environment, people are naturally wired to resist change, experience it differently, and often associate it with loss, fear, or exhaustion. The TIE Model provides a simple, practical way for leaders to respond to these realities by focusing on how change is led—not just what is changing.

The model centers on three essential leadership behaviors: Transparency, Inclusion, and Empathy. By communicating openly, involving people in the change where possible, and acknowledging the human experience behind every transition, leaders can build trust, reduce resistance, and support meaningful adoption. Practitioners use the TIE Model to guide conversations, normalize emotional responses, and strengthen resilience during times of uncertainty.

FarWell partners with organizations to help leaders and teams navigate change, build capability, and drive meaningful outcomes. From strategy development to change management and leadership development, we help organizations move forward—together.
